Zauli Mask Africa 37 x1 5.5 cm Wood, pigment, shell, mirror This unusual figure was collected in the Ivory Coast in the 1990's. In excellent condition with a custom made black steel stand. Zauli is a festive dance of masks during which ten or more masks appear one after the other. They demonstrate the Guro's great skill in dancing by their playing together with the rhythms of a drum ensemble. With the white fly rushes which the dancer holds in either hand he demonstrates to the drummers the way in which he intends to dance. AUD$220
