The anterior presents classic motifs in relief with the recesses pigmented in traditional white which is still evident and salmon which has been more recently reapplied.
Made for initiation by a young man's allocated guardian, the venerated piece is afterwards used to guard the clan areas.

This fine example shows good age and patina and sports several old resin repairs.

The artefact's considerable size and its colourful and well executed stylised motifs, as well as it's tribal origins, recommend it as an accent piece for today's decor.
