C1950 Fertility Fetish Tanzania Wood seeds 22 cm An abstract figure showing signs of age. A hole in the head often indicated that this was used for magic ingredients. When a woman leaves her father's compound for the home of her new husband, such fetishes were carried in the belief that these would enable the wife to become pregnant within a month of her first conjugal sexual experience.
