x 91cm This painting is a fine example of the individualist style of Barbara Reid Napangati who has developed her confident and original direction without departing from ancient influences. Born circa 1964 at Paaya near Tjukurla in Western Australia Napangati has been painting the stories of her country of Tjukurla in the Gibson Desert, Western Australia of which she is the custodian since 1989.
A characteristic of her work is her depiction of puli

around the role of woman as healer and provider within Ngaanyatjarra
